Functional components in a high-volume industrial process

Hinges for Bosch household appliances

The project at a glance

The hinges that we manufacture and install for the household appliances of our customer, Bosch, are an example of large-scale industrial production at the highest level of quality. As functionally critical components, they are used in millions of appliances (white goods), where they must work reliably for many years.

The Challenge

The production of hinges illustrates the requirements of large-scale industrial production outside the automotive industry. The challenge was to provide a precise and assembly-adapted workmanship with a very high number of pieces. The key in this case is not the complexity of a single element, but the constant repeatability in the course of continuous series production.

Solution

Thanks to the stamping process designed for serial stability, combined with standardized assembly at the BSH station, it is possible to realize a stable high-volume process. The components are manufactured on a 400 ton press with full repeatability and then assembled in a way that is ready for final assembly. The result: consistent quality and reliable performance even with persistently high costs.

Quality — repeatable in millions of copies

This project clearly shows that precision must convince not only pointwise, but throughout the long life cycle of the series. At the same time, it highlights the possibility of transferring our manufacturing competencies to industrial applications outside the Automotive environment.

Delivery to Bosch

“The product I am most pleased with is the hinge that we supply for our customer, Bosch. We press the components, assemble them and deliver them to the factory in Łódź. The objective is clear: consistent quality even at very high volumes”.
